Position: Millwrights - Manufacturing

Job Description:

Millwrights General Duties:

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation and modification of all sawmill-related equipment, you will apply your BC or IP TQ to maximize uptime, quality and production. You have a commitment to safety and several years’ experience in an industrial setting, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. Any welding ticket would be an asset.

Major Duties:

  • Repairing and maintaining all types of production equipment and tooling
  • Plan, initiate and execute work to increase overall efficiency of plant
  • Develop, implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program on production equipment and building to ensure that any planned preventive repairs are scheduled in accordance with production schedules
  • Overseeing and directing as required plant projects including those involving outside contractors
  • Ensuring that the plant is in compliance with all regulations that are required
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the plant & manufacturing supervisors.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:

  • Interprovincial red seal or minimum 3rd or 4th year apprentice
  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Experience in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment
  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 shift rotation.
