Our client, Eastern Baseball Academy, is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable baseball coach who is motivated to manage a successful baseball academy encompassing Atlantic Canada.

In this role, we are looking for an individual with the abilities to manage a travel baseball team, train athletes for competitive events, organize practices, supervise players, lead by example and be committed to our organization. Promoting an appreciation for physical fitness, accountability, teamwork and sportsmanship are a few key duties of the successful applicant. This position will be based out of Charlottetown, PEI, and our client is willing to accommodate relocation/travelling fees if necessary.

General duties of this position would include:
• Coaching baseball players ranging of 13-18 years of age
• Managing and organizing baseball programs/teams
• Player recruitment and placement
• Identifying strengths and weaknesses of athletes/teams
• Planning and developing training and practicing schedules
• Nurturing and developing potential skills in athletes
• Motivate and prepare athletes or teams for games
• Formulate competitive strategies, develop game plans and direct athletes and players during games
• Assist in establishing an 18u Elite programming
• Assist in managing the EA Sports complex in Charlottetown, Home of Eastern Baseball Academy
• Observe and evaluate prospective athletes’ skills and performances
• Performing one-on-ones with athletes
• Organizing and implementing fundraising activities within the organization

Requirements for this position would include:
• High school diploma/GED certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, business, kinesiology or related field is considered an asset
• Further secondary education is considered an asset (Master’s, PHD etc.)
• 6+ years of experience in coaching collegiate baseball
• Ability to communicate in English (orally and written)
• Previous experience in organizing and operating a College and High School baseball program
• Occasional travel with the teams
• Prior successful experience working in coaching student athletes is strongly preferred
• Knowledge and compliance of NCAA rules/policies
• Ability to pass the annual NCAA certification test
• Completion of a Criminal Records check

• Experience in knowledge of children in sport development

• Further/other education or certificates
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Knowledge of high-level baseball techniques and strategies

Salary:
• Ranging from $35,000 – $45,000
