Calling all ‘Foodies!’!
Our client is seeking a high-energy, outgoing and motivated individual who has a personal interest in food culture, as well as experience in a management role. Liquid Gold Olive Oils & Vinegars is a well-known and respected company that has locations throughout the Maritimes in Halifax, Moncton and Charlottetown. Their extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and gourmet pantry items are well known for authentic, flavourful, and distinctive. Based in the Charlottetown store, our successful applicant will be seeking a career that centres around continuing to build the business province-wide, to both the consumer market and the food service industry.
Skills required will include marketing, retail merchandising, staff organization and operations management. An interest in, and familiarity with food preparation, trace ability and food-health is considered a significant asset. General requirements of this position would include:

• Organizing and supervising daily store operations, understanding seasonal fluctuations
• Exhibiting a deep understanding for Liquid Gold’s core and allied products
• Implementing tactics to achieve performance goals.
• Keeping positive and consistent communication with staff, co-workers and Liquid Gold’s entrepreneurial owners
• Cultivating business relationships with local organizations and events
• Creating marketing initiatives to develop both the consumer market and the PEI foodservice market
• Emphasizing a positive and outgoing sales atmosphere with staff and customers
• Translating the company’s mission statement, values and goals into daily experiences
• Growing a strong brand within PEI’s business community
• Managing retail inventory and wholesale forecasts
• Appraise staff performance against training plans
• Control operational costs

Day-to-Day duties of this position would include:
• Leading by example in motivating staff
• Contributing to a positive and inviting ambiance in the store
• Store opening and closing, cash balancing
• Bank deposits
• In-store promotional activations
• Ensuring all customers have a superb overall experience
• Training new and current employees on proper customer service practices
• Connecting with the community as a supportive member of it

Requirements for this position would include:
• An education track that includes marketing, business administration and/or culinary or related field is required (diploma and/or bachelor)
• A minimum of 2-3 years experience in retail and/or food product retail; similar experience is considered an asset
• A minimum of 2 year of supervisory experience, preferably in a retail workplace
• Experience in customer service and/or public relations is considered an asset
• A vested personal interest in the food industry
• Physical ability to lift 15 Kg,
• Must have a method of transportation to run errands throughout daily operations
• Experience in training staff is considered an asset
• A demonstrated ability in computer proficiency and knowledge in the use of MS Office programs
• Ability to coach, train and direct team members in productivity and operations
• Highly organized and motivated individual
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

The successful applicant would be expected to receive a salary ranging from $38,000-40,000, depending on qualifications. There is a performance incentive, paid quarterly, designed to augment the compensation for managers and staff.
