Sales Associate

About our Client:
RedFox Flooring Warehouse is a new retail flooring warehouse that specializes in all types of flooring for both residential and commercial projects. RedFox is currently seeking a Flooring Associate to join their growing team. They offer a competitive compensation package, as well as sales commissions according to the success of the associate.

Our client is seeking a motivated and driven flooring sales associate who has an interest in sales and/or marketing techniques. The successful applicant must be an outgoing and confident individual who is willing to take on a leadership role in the sales department. The Flooring Associate is responsible for greeting and working with customers by determining their needs and asking questions to help in select the right product. Reaching business and sales targets using excellent selling and communication skills will be a focus for this position. Other duties will include maintaining thorough, up to date, knowledge of company products, developing revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role.

General duties of this position would include:
• Providing prompt and courteous customer service
• Working with customers to determine their requirements and plan measurements
• Answering questions and offering suggestions to customers based on thorough knowledge of the specific product lines
• Offering additional aid on products/services to customers related to the sale
• Maintaining and expand the company’s database of customers
• Overcoming objections of prospective customers
• Emphasizing product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss and prepare sales invoice
• Entering new customer data and updating changes to existing accounts in the corporate database
• Creating sales leads and initiating prospect calls
• Achieving monthly and annual sales goals
• Establishing ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers
• Investigating and troubleshoot customer service issues
• Aiding in getting orders ready for customers (when applicable)

Day-to-Day duties of this position would include:
• Opening and closing procedures
• Leading special initiatives as instructed
• Loading customers orders if necessary.
• Maintaining code of ethics, integrity and honesty
• Lifting heavy materials depending on operations
• Developing positive work relationships
• Being a leader in the sales department
• Being proactive during daily operations, finding tasks to do when days are slow
• Cleaning and maintaining the overall appearance of the store for the best front-face
• Handling payments through a POS system, handling cash
• Providing customers with accurate pricing information and notifying them of potential and current sales
• Guiding new hires, when applicable, into prospective sales positions

Requirements for this position would include:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years experience in retail flooring or the building/construction industry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience in renovations, interior design or general home improvement is considered an asset
• Ability to achieve sales in line with performance, company goals and objectives
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written
• Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
• Experience in driving a forklift is considered an advantage
• A demonstrated ability in computer proficiency and basic knowledge in the use of MS Office programs
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Working Conditions
• Full time, 6 days per week. Monday- Saturday and workable Public Holidays
• Lifting or moving up to 32kg when necessary.
• Wages will be ranging from $15-17 per hour, with sales commissions added depending on performance
