Eastern Fabricators is searching for the right fit for their Senior Mechanical Designer role. The successful candidate must possess experience and training directly transferable to the position, as well as a willingness to learn and train for this specific skill set. An Engineering background is considered a strong asset, however, if you have related experience, education, or a demonstrated passion for this type of work your application will be accepted and considered.

The Senior Mechanical Designer will be involved in all aspects of mechanical design from concept development, validation, detailed design requiring autonomy, and hands-on activity. Our successful candidate is responsible for high-quality and thoroughness of drawings, created with the expectation that work orders will be fulfilled in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements for this position would include, but limited to:

  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential
  • Experience in creating fabrication drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Background in machine design with a mechanical aptitude, FEA experience a strong asset
  • Experience in Sanitary Design within the food industry is considered a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education in relative field would be considered a strong asset

General duties:

  • Reporting to Vice President of Projects
  • Prepare engineering designs & drawings based on preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations & customer specifications
  • Examine drawings for conformity and errors, ensuring consistency in production
  • Create ‘Equipment Parts’ list for all designs
  • Participate in design review meetings
  • Organizing and scheduling to ensure project deadlines are met efficiently & on-time
  • Working with the Design team to complete project work
  • General shop & office support
  • Ensuring honest and accountable work throughout operations

Job Terms:

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: 7:30 AM – 4PM, Monday to Friday
  • Ability to work from home and/or remotely is an option for the right candidate
  • 50/50 Employer contribution for Dental and Health coverage
  • Salary range $71,000 – $80,000 DOE
