Service Technician or Electrician

Chandler Motor Repair is currently looking for a service technician or electrician for off-site repairs and installations. Candidates should be able to perform electrical installations and maintain electrical backup systems for residential and commercial applications. Diagnosing and troubleshooting capabilities are an asset and employees will be responsible for using their skills and training to identify and repair any electrical/mechanical issues that arise. The position would be ideal for an electrician or technician looking for a chance to work in a variety of different environments.

 

Required qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Red Seal Certification (electrical) or certification as an Electromechanical Technician is an Asset
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code, as well as local codes and ordinances
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • The technician will perform additional duties and frequently work alongside other tradespeople, such as HVAC techs, plumbers, and carpenters.
  • Completing preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on generators or components at the customer site with minimal direction.
  • Able to engage with customers courteously and professionally.
  • Applying the use of specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Completing required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Self-development: Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
  • Service Documentation: Creates and verifies customer equipment and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system to have an accurate record of the work done.

  • Field service environment
  • Exposure to dust and other debris
  • Outside weather conditions
  • Extended work hours in power outage situations
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl

 

Employment type:

  • Job type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Weekly Workload: 30-48 hours per week. Able to work extended hours, nights, weekends (only in emergencies)
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Remuneration / Benefits:

  • Hourly wage range: $25 – $45 based on experience
  • Vacation days: 3 weeks
  • Medical/Dental/Life Insurance
