Our client You Move Physio is seeking an experienced part-time Chiropractor for their physiotherapy clinic located in Alberton, PE. They are searching for an individual looking to expand their practice and knowledge through a part-time position. The successful applicant will have options available for subcontracting and flexible hours throughout each week.
The Chiropractor diagnoses, treats, and prevents patient neuromuscular-skeletal disorders of the spine, nervous system, pelvis, and other body joints by adjusting the spinal column, or through other corrective manipulation.
Requirements for this position:
- Completion of the examinations of the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board and of the provincial licensing body are required
- Completion of a 4- or 5-year program at an institution accredited by the Accreditation Commission of the Council on Chiropractic Education
- A minimum of two years’ university undergraduate studies in sciences or relative field
- Licensing by a regulatory body is required (in PEI)
- 1+ years of experience in clinic or similar workplace is a strong asset
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
- Alternative physical treatment techniques are an asset
General Duties:
- Diagnose neuromuscular-skeletal disorders of the spinal column, pelvis, extremities, and associated tissues
- Treat health disorders in a natural manner through adjustments or articular manipulations and complementary treatments such as electrotherapy, acupuncture, heat therapy and massage with special attention given to the spine
- Advise patients on alternate treatment modalities such as corrective exercises, posture, lifestyle, and nutrition that have positive effects on the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system
- Refer patients for medical care when appropriate
- Take patients’ case history, conduct examinations, observe patients, and other tests to diagnose patient’s condition
- Adjust position of displaced vertebrae and other articulations, using manipulative therapy
- Diagnose disorders of spine and other body joints
- Use additional treatment such as heat, light, and massage
- Other duties as required
